Symptoms and Causes of Mid Back Pain

Monday, December 21st, 2009

There are actually very many causes for a mid back pain.  All of these can induce a great amount of pain to a person and can be very disabling and can disrupt his regular daily activities.  There are lots of regular working days which have been lost because of the fact that these employees suffer from back pain.  One of the most common cause for back pain is damaged disc or even degenerative changes to the disc.

Degeneration of the disc occurs when the gap size between the two vertebrae gets reduced due to the fluid, that acts as a lubricant, in between those vertebrae got lost and hence trapping the nerve in between those two vertebrae.

Ruptured disc can actually be a more serious and dangerous type of back issue.  With ruptured disk a soft jelly type of material gets leaked and causing trouble.  This jelly like material is commonly referred as nucleus pulposus.

Bulging disc is another most common disc issue.  With this condition we can actually see the protruding or bulged disc in our back.  Since this is a most common and not so serious issue, it can be rectified with some rest.

Poor posture both when sitting and standing plays a major role when it comes to mid back pain.  Working in front of the computer for long without any proper support to the back also causes mid back pain.  Even stress and anxiety can cause mid back pain as when stressed can cause muscles to get stiff and tense and hence resulting in backache.

The time and the activity type in which we get back pain can actually tell us the type and indication of injury that we have got.  Back pain can be caused by even doing our daily activities like bending, stretching, twisting as these activities can pull the muscle or even a slipped disc.

Sometimes muscle pain can be caused when lifting heavier object in an improper way.  Even sometimes the exercise if done in wrong way can cause mid back pain.  Even rib fractures can cause mid back pain.  One most common but unknown cause of a mid back pain is the kidney infection which cannot be identified using regular methods to diagnose back pain.

We actually take it for granted on doing our daily activities and hence might suffer from such issues like back pain.  Hence it is extremely important to take good care of our back by doing regular exercise and proper diet plan and ideal body weight.

Facial Skin Care

Friday, December 18th, 2009

The facial skin care is the most important and widely used skin care among others.  There are various ways to protect your face like moisturizing, exfoliating, toning, and cleansing.

Among the first and most important is cleansing.  It helps to remove unwanted dusts, grease, oil, and pollutants and hence protecting your skin from damages.  The best way to cleanse is by using cotton wool with cleansing cream and wiping the face with it to get better results.

Toning come next and although this is not so important for facial skin care but can be used if extra care is needed in facial skin care.  Toning will be used to remove the dirt and other pollutants in your face.  Toning can be done occasionally though rather than routinely.

The next step towards facial skin care is exfoliation.  Exfoliation is not necessary to be done every day but should be done once a week.  It is nothing but cleaning out the dead cells in our skin which gets recycled every now and then.  Exfoliation helps in removing all the cells which are dead and also blocks all the pores and hence helping in the natural process of the skin.

Moisturising is the next step and it is used to give moisture to the dry skin and hence protecting the skin from drying up.

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

We humans are natural wanderers but instead of moving we mostly stay in a cage like situation these days.  But instead of moving around everywhere we hardly move from one place to another short distance because of our lifestyle changes.  Now we hardly move out of our living room and the office room.

Not so long ago, people who work in field work hard so that they had enough exercise on a daily basis and hence they lived a healthy lifestyle and their food habit was also very healthy with no junk food, but now it has changed dramatically with no exercise and eating junk food.

Exercise does not always mean that you need to do it in a professional body builder way but should do it in a light as well as gentle way so as to you exert at least some.

Some good tips on weight loss are:

Getting good quality sleep and it is very essential if you are planning for losing weight.  At least eight hours of sleep is a must.  The most easy and best way to exercise is by way of walking.  At least walking 30 minutes a day is a great way of losing weight without exerting yourself much.

Vegetarian Diet for Optimal Personal Health

Friday, December 11th, 2009

It is a well known fact and well documented that the vegetarians are more healthier than that those who eat meat.  Vegetarians seem to more less obese and mostly do not suffer from diseases like hypertension, colon cancer, diabetes or even arthritis.  Their chances of acquiring a heart disease is also far less.  Vegetarians seem to have very optimal blood pressure regardless of how much salt they and how less they exercise.

The main reason for such good health found in vegetarians is the fact that the vegetarians consume adequate amount of fiber than that of meat eaters.  Thus it reduces the cholesterol and blood sugar level.  Vegetarians also consume antioxidants in adequate quantity which is much needed to protect your heart from acquiring heart disease as well as cancer.

Vegetarians also consume more isoflavones than that of the regular meat eaters.  This is mostly found in soy based foods.  It has been proven isoflavones reduces the chances of getting prostate cancer.

Vegetarians also intake far low cholesterol and saturated fat than the meat eaters which is the sole cause of acquiring many diseases.  Even consuming vegetarian food has good effect on the environment and helps protect the animals.  Thus vegetarians have a more balanced life both physically and mentally.

Atkins diet is one of the popular and widely used diet plans available in the market.  With it becoming popular there have been lots of similar diet plans which has similar theme of low carbohydrate and high protein diet plans.

Low-carbohydrate diet plan has great benefits which many studies have proven.  It is indeed proven that Atkins diet which stresses on low-carbohydrate diet will result in great weight loss even without needing to restrict on your calories.

Those who use Atkins diet have indeed reported the same.  It is also proven that eating low-carbohydrate diet will reduces the triglycerides and even lessen the blood glucose in those who suffer from diabetes.  It also raises the HDL cholesterol which is the good cholesterol.  If you compare low carbohydrate diet with low fat diet, with the former the muscle loss will be lesser.

It is also proven that it increases the energy level and improves concentration and even reduces depression and reduce your crave for sweet and fast foods!

The cons is that you need to count the carbohydrate content that you eat in almost every food you eat.  The most controversial thing with regard to Atkins diet is the induction which many of them could not do.
